In spring 2020 Heidi, Kara and Rachel were invited by California Partnership for Math and Science Education to create a summer course for district leaders and leaders across the CA, focused on the experiences of students at the margins of classrooms within mathematics education. Using Universal Design for Learning and Design Thinking together, we invited participants to redesign the tools, routines, norms, and spaces that students and their teachers typically experience.
